Three-quarters of London’s restaurants and pubs have no website at all, which means no amount of research will ever find them. People who have actually been there will.

A postcode and a name is enough. Everything else is optional, and you can add photos if you have them.

This is how we place the venue on the map. Everything else we can work out.

What is the dog policy?

The most useful field on this form. “We sat inside with ours last Sunday” or “there is a sign on the door” both tell us where to look.

This is where we go to confirm the policy, so it speeds things up more than anything else here.

Shown on the listing as the person who found it. First name or a nickname is plenty. Leave it blank and we will credit “a visitor”.

Never shown, never added to a mailing list. Only used if we need to ask you something.

What happens next

A person reads every submission. We look for the policy on the venue’s own site, and what we find decides how it appears:

  • If we can confirm it, the venue is listed as dog-friendly with the policy quoted from its source — and credited to you.
  • If we cannot, it is still added, but marked as a community listing with the policy unconfirmed. We would rather show you what a visitor told us and say so than pretend we checked.
