It was read from richmond.gov.uk on 19 July 2026.Kew Green is not listed in the Richmond PSPO's on-lead restricted area schedule; the PSPO's 'proper control' definition applies instead - a dog being on a lead or muzzled if the dog requires it, or otherwise being at heel or close enough to be restrained, or responding immediately to voice commands.
On-lead areas: Kew Pond is expressly named in the Richmond PSPO on-lead schedule. The adjoining Thames towpath is covered by the on-lead requirement for towpaths maintained at public expense. Maximum four dogs without a council licence.
A Public Spaces Protection Order applies here. London Borough of Richmond upon Thames PSPO 2023 (Dog Control), extended from 22 September 2023 for a further 3 years.
