hackney.gov.ukChecked 19 July 2026

This is the evidence for off-lead rules at London Fields and Broadway Market. It was read from hackney.gov.uk on 19 July 2026.

Hackney's PSPO on-lead schedule applies only to roads, car parks, churchyards, communal areas on estates, public parks and gardens under half a hectare, and Shepherdess Walk. London Fields is well over half a hectare and is not in the schedule.

On-lead areas: Dogs are not allowed in the play area or sports facilities. Council officers can ask you to put your dog on a lead if they are not under control, or are causing damage or acting aggressively.

A Public Spaces Protection Order applies here. Hackney's Public Spaces Protection Order (dog control) was updated on 18 March 2024. You are not allowed to have more than 6 dogs under your control at any given time.

Notes

Very busy, crowded in summer, and directly beside Broadway Market - excellent for the dining directory but poor for reactive dogs. Lido and lido cafe on site. Coordinate from Wikipedia infobox.

Where to eat afterwards

Verified dog-friendly venues within about two kilometres, closest first. Straight-line distance, not walking distance.
