newham.gov.ukChecked 19 July 2026

This is the evidence for off-lead rules at West Ham Park. It was read from newham.gov.uk on 19 July 2026.

Dogs are permitted in the open park but excluded from several named areas by the Newham dogs exclusion order.

On-lead areas: Dogs are excluded from the bandstand area and the garden area in West Ham Park, from the play areas, and from the sports areas (tennis courts and cricket nets). Newham also excludes dogs from all open children's play areas and all fenced sports areas borough-wide.

A Public Spaces Protection Order applies here. London Borough of Newham (Dogs Exclusion) 2011 Amendment Order 2012, in force 14 June 2012. You must not be responsible for more than four dogs at any one time in public.

Notes

Managed by the City of London Corporation but the dog exclusion order is Newham's. The City's own page could not be fetched (HTTP 403), so the general off-lead permission is inferred from the absence of an on-lead requirement. Coordinate from Wikipedia infobox.
